Enjoying These Lazy Hazy Days Of Summer

 

Summer started early here in the northern plains but it's been a roller coaster of temperatures ever since.  I prefer cooler temperatures but am thankful for my new a/c unit.  I wish I had 2 trees to hang a hammock from. I love to read in them and enjoy listening to birds.  Another sweet set from Colorado Craft Company.

Happy Summer card

Saturday is the first day of summer but we've had a few days that have made me think it's already here.  I saw this paper on Simon Says Stamp and my resolve not to buy any more paper until I used what I had went out the window.  It was too cute to pass up.  Then I looked at watermelon stamps and saw one that I already owned from Lawn Fawm.  Perfect!

There are some people out there that believe snow is better than sand.  We are not friends.  I'll take a beach any day over a snowbank.  This was a fun little card to make using this summer set from Inky Antics.

So Many Men card

I hope I am this humorous at an advanced age as this lady is.  I love that she's relaxed in her lawn chair with a drink in her hand.  Goals...  This was a fun card to create.  At first I was going to use the glitter paper to look like sand but then just opted for a fun new layout.

Meet Me At The Lake card

As a Minnesota girl (growing up), this new stamp set from Newton's Nook was a must for me.  I spent many weekends out in a fishing boat and a couple in a canoe on a river in the heart of the state.  I colored the canoe as what I remember my rental looking like.  I used distress ink to color in the beach, lake and sky.  I pulled down some of the sky as a reflection in the lake.  I added Wink of Stella to the dragonfly wings to make it pop.

Lost At The Lake card

A nice refreshing drink in your hand and a quiet lake and trees in the background sounds heavenly rather than being in the heat of the city.  I used a couple different stamp sets from Newton's Nook to create this card.  I used 2 different colors of stamp pads for the background pines across the lake.  I used a burlap for create texture for the sand.
